Okapiland Map is an interactive world atlas for culture heritage guide and nature guide, where information on world heritage, nature and geography can be seen on map. Information navigator for culture heritage, nature and geography in the world. The sites are displayed as icons with a link on the map, and you can see the sites and the geographical information while moving on the map. The sites of each country or region are listed in a sidebar, and you can move to a site selected among the list. Not only the sites, but also you can see the geographical information, e.g. mountain, by the right button click. Various information in the document explanation, the image, and the video is being offered.

  1. Navigating in Okapiland Map
    1. Pan
      You can move your view in two dimensions in any Okapiland Map. To move the map, do one of the following:
      • Drag the map to move in two dimensions. (Fig.1 or Fig.2)
      • Drag the overview map of right side bottom. (Fig.3 or Fig.4)
    2. Zoom
      There are two layers in Okapiland Map. The first layer is a reduction map (Fig.1) and the second layer is a expansion map (Fig.2). To pan, do one of the following:
      • Change the cursor and click to zoom in the map into the expansion map. (Fig.1 to Fig.2)
      • Change the cursor and click to zoom out the map back to the reduction map. (Fig.2 to Fig.1)
      • Double click to zoom in the map into the expansion map. (Fig.1 to Fig.2)
      • Double click to zoom out the map back to the reduction map. (Fig.2 to Fig.1)

    3. Site List
      You can select a country or region. To select a country or region, do one of the following:
      • Push the button and select the country or region on a popup window. (Fig.21) The sites are listed in the sidebar. (Fig.22)
      • Change the cursor and click the country or region on the map. The sites are listed in the sidebar. (Fig.22)
      • Click a place with a right button (context menu) and select "List sites here". The sites are listed in the right sidebar (Fig.22).

      The sidebar at right side to list the sites. Clicking the link, the map is zoomed in and moved to the marker of the site.
    4. Geographic Information
      You can show the geographic information on the map. To show the information, do one of the following:
      • Change the cursor and click the name on the map. The image tooltip appeares. (Fig.32)
      • Click a geograpical name or symbol with a right button (context menu), e.g. mountain, and select "Geographical info here". Info window (Fig.24) appears to display the geographical information.

      Image tooltip appeares when you click a geographical symbol or name with a right button and select the context menu. The following items are displayed with the symbol and the name.
      • City, Town
      • River, Lake
      • Island
      • Nation, State
      • Airport, Seaport
      • Mountain, Volcano
      • National Park, Wildlife Conservation
      • Glacial
      To close an info window, click .

  2. About Site Marker
    1. Site Marker (small version)
      Markers appear in Okapiland Map to show sites (Fig.1,Fig.5). The following describes the color classification (outline and inner) of the marker.

    2. Site Marker (regular version)
      Markers appear in Okapiland Map to show sites (Fig.2, Fig.6). The following describes the color classification (outline) of the marker.

      The mark on a marker, e.g. , shows that the site is World Heritage in damage.
      The marker itself is a link to display the site information. To erase the markers, click . Types of markers include:
